It is a double gorilla trekking experience taking you into the jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Southwestern Uganda and Volcanoes National Park Rwanda. Detailed itinerary of the 4 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari
Day 1: Kigali city tour & next visit to Volcanoes National Park Ruhengeri
Following your early arrival at Kigali airport, your Rwanda safari guide picks you up and after he briefs you, you will go enjoy Kigali city tour. This will be for you to reach out to amazing sites within the city including Kigali genocide site which gives insight about the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Other areas to get to on city tour include craft shops, local markets.
After the 2 hours’ city expedition, you will travel to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri. This will be 2-3 hours’ drive towards the Northern Province of Rwanda and check in at your lodge will be upon arrival.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & drive to Bwindi in Kabale
Breakfast early morning and next, report to Kinigi to meet the park official for 7:00am briefing on how you should conduct yourself while on gorilla trek. Set off on a search for gorillas after being allocated to a gorilla family and the park guide. On 2-6 hours’ gorilla adventure, enjoy amazing sights of other primates, birds, mammals, reptiles, flora and a lot more.
Immediately you come across the gorilla family, 1 hour is a standard time that is allowed for you to enjoy a face-to-face encounter with mountain gorillas. Later, you will get back to check out of the lodge and you leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Katuna/Chanika border.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking Bwindi-Southwestern Uganda
Enjoy a tasty cup of tea/coffee and later drive to any of the 4 trailheads of Bwindi for briefing (Ruhija, Nkuringo, Rushaga and Buhoma). Get to know what to do and not to do on a gorilla trek and by 8:00am, go look for mountain gorillas.
Your trek may range from 2-6 hours and includes 1 hour with gorillas once you come across them. After photography & learning more about mountain gorillas, return to the lodge to chill or go nature walk in the nearby areas.

Day 4: Batwa experience & drive back to Kigali
Rise up for an early morning breakfast and after, visit the Batwa community just near Bwindi Forest. The Batwa once lived in Bwindi Forest close to over 500000 years before it was designated as a national park. On cultural walk, you get to explore the rich cultures, traditions, practices, ancient hunting and gathering techniques of the Batwa and get entertained by their dances, music performances among others. Get back to the lodge for lunch and check out then drive back to Kigali, about 3-4 hours via Katuna/Chanika border. Drop off at the place of residence/hotel or Kigali airport for departure and this marks the end of the 4 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari.
