This 3 days Queen Elizabeth Uganda safari will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park that’s situated in the western part of Uganda. This park covers an area of 1,980 square kilometers and was named after the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II after her visit. It has a vast of ecosystem that does range from lakes, swamps, rivers, forests and savannah that attract a big number of wildlife animals– over 100 mammals, 606 bird species and more. Its because of this reason that makes Queen Elizabeth National Park the most visited park in Uganda and the second-best park to visit after Murchison Falls National Park.

3 Days Queen Elizabeth Uganda SafariThe park has major sectors where you can spot a number of wildlife species and these are: the famous Ishasha province known to be home to the tree climbing lions, Kyambura gorge and Kalinzu forest where you can find chimpanzees, the Kazinga channel that does connect lake Edward and lake George that acts as a converging point for a number of species that come here to drink water and cool off, the mweya peninsula where you will be able to spot a number of species as they roam in the park. Wildlife species you can look forward to seeing include; hippos, elephants, herds of antelopes, buffaloes, hyenas, cave bats, bush pigs among others.

While in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will also get to enjoy beautiful scenic views of the Snow-capped Mountain Rwenzori. Detailed 3 days Queen Elizabeth Uganda safari

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will wake up in the early morning hours, take breakfast and right at 6:30am our driver/guide will be at your hotel of residence to lead you to the western part of the country where Queen Elizabeth National Park is located. Before departing, you will be briefed about the whole itinerary and here you can ask as many questions as you want so that you’re equipped with knowledge preparing you for this fun packed safari.

You will then set off from Kampala via the Masaka – Mbarara highway by 7am so that you beat the morning traffic jam and along the way you will get to see the beautiful countryside made up of plantations, different vegetation, farms and different trading centers where communities gather to buy and sell commodities.  Once something or a feature gets your attention, you can talk to our guide/driver to stop so that you capture the moments right onto your camera or phone.

Enroute to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will also stop at the Equator – a once in a lifetime opportunity to be in the southern and northern hemisphere at the same.  You can as well take photos from here. Proceed to Igongo cultural centre just a few minutes from Mbarara city where you will have your lunch.

Thereafter, you will proceed with your journey to Queen Elizabeth via the Bushenyi – Kasese highway and here you also get to see the different landscapes, tea plantations, long horned Ankole cows, escarpments and a lot more before reaching your reserved hotel in Queen Elizabeth. Upon reaching, you will check in to your hotel, have dinner and then rest.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise along the Kazinga channel

You will wake up in the early morning, take your breakfast and thereafter, you will be led to the park for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains. A game drive at such a time is perfect as you will be able to see early morning risers as they get out of their shelters to start their day and nocturnal that are always active during the night heading back to their shelters.

Wildlife species you can expect to see in the Kasenyi plains include: the hyenas, elephants, lions, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, several bird species and more other species. The activity takes about 1 to 3hrs. You will later be led back to your hotel for lunch and a few mins of relaxing.

After that, you will leave to Kazinga channel for an afternoon boat cruise. The kazinga channel connects both lakes of George and Edward and while here you will be able to spot a number of species on the shores as they drink water and cool off while others in the waters. Species you can look forward to seeing while here include hippos, crocodiles, bird species (the malachite kingfisher, pelicans and more), buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, kobs. This rewarding activity does last for 2hrs.

From here you will head back to your hotel for dinner and then rest.

Day 3: Early morning game drive in the Ishasha sector and transfer to Kampala

You will wake up in the early morning, have breakfast, check out of your hotel and then set off to the ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park popularly known to be home to the tree climbing lions. While here, you will be able to see the cats, buffaloes, elephants, birds and more others. From here enroute to Kampala, you will be to see the different crater lakes and other physical features while exiting the park.

You will continue your journey to Kampala and upon reaching Igongo cultural center, you have a stop over for lunch and then continue direct to Kampala or Entebbe international airport.
